Maintenance
We are currently seeking an entry level maintenance assistant with a dependable work ethic. This position will be focused on supporting our Apartment turn over process at our permeant supportive housing locations and various properties for our clients throughout the Charlotte area. This person will be teamed up with a full-time facility staff member at all times. This is a temporary as needed position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Willingness to follow direction and learn maintenance.
- Cleaning and sanitizing of apartments to include all surfaces and appliances.
- Removing trash and furniture from apartments.
- Perform general repairs that includes but not limited to painting, drywall, flooring, doors and hardware replacements.
- Maintain grounds utilizing lawn mowers, weed eaters, and leave blowers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Preferred experience in maintenance and/or custodial work
- High school Diploma (or equivalent) preferred; must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with staffs & clients.
- Task oriented - Proven experience in working independently in the absence of direct supervision.
- Team oriented - Experience working in groups and can treat others in a positive manner; must be able to communicate effectively with agency staff, facility staff and facility manager
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and schedule requirements.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Daily schedule of first shift, Monday- Friday with breaks and meal periods. With the possibility of afterhours calls as needed
- Requires much physical movement, lifting, carrying, and reading instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry weight up/down flight of stairs.
- Ability to move, walk, lift, bend, stand, grasp, climb steps/ladders and able to work in an elevated environment.
- Ability to tolerate physical contact with, use of, and in close proximity to approved cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
