Physician, On-site Medical Director - (Full-time)
Medcor is seeking a Physician to provide hands-on Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine (Strong orthopedic focus), and Primary Care to employees at an automotive manufacturing site. Scope of Services The scope of services provided in this clinic includes episodic and urgent care, limited primary care, diagnosis and treatment of workers’ compensation injuries and illness, regulatory exams and preventive services. Basic point-of-care lab work and limited prescription dispensing is available on-site. Clinic hours are Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Duties and Responsibilities:
· 85% Direct Patient Care with 15% Administrative Activities
· Direction of the medical practice of the PA/NP
· Consultation as needed with the clinic’s PA or NP
· Recognition of the PA/NP’s education needs and help in meeting those needs
· Provide primary care services at a level of an outpatient clinic
· Provide assessment and treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries
· Provide urgent care of non-work-related injuries and illnesses as best supports site activities
· Provide initial evaluation and stabilization of patients who present with illnesses or injuries that require a higher level of care or EMS transport
Practice Plan:
· If the provider is a PA, the physician and PA will execute and file a practice plan acceptable to the state Board of Medicine or Board of Physician Assistant practice
· If the provider is an NP, the physician and NP will execute a collaboration agreement
· The Medcor practice plan agreement is used if there is no state-specified practice plan template
You Must Have
· A valid and unrestricted medical license in Illinois state
· One of the following educational and experiential backgrounds with first choice being the double boarded option #1:
1. Double Board Certified in occupational Medicine AND a Primary Care Field (e.g. Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine)
OR
2. Board certification in Occupational Medicine AND have extensive experience in orthopedic injuries and urgent care/primary care experience.
OR
3. Board certification in Internal Medicine, or Family Practice with fellowship training in Sports Medicine.
OR
4. Board certification in Emergency Medicine, with strong orthopedic skills and experience in Occupational Medicine and Primary Care.
· A current and unrestricted
· DEA registration and, as applicable, state-controlled substances registration
· A current BLS certification
· A positive outlook and be a collaborative team player
· A commitment to go above and beyond for excellent customer service
· Occupational health and Workers’ Compensation experience
· Be able to lift 30lb jump bag/backpack

· Be comfortable and productive working with computers and EMR software.
· Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills – with patients, clients and colleagues.
· Have Clinical leadership experience
· Have managed care experience
