About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing water, wastewater, and reclaimed water treatment equipment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of critical treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair treatment plant equipment, including:
Pumps (centrifugal, split case, submersible, positive displacement, diaphragm, vertical turbine)
Valves, piping, and gearboxes
Air systems, gas compressors, gas service turbine generators
Grit chambers and chemical systems (sodium hypochlorite, hydrofluorosilicic acid, aqueous ammonia, sodium aluminate, sodium hydroxide/caustic soda)
Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
Conduct pump and motor alignments, including laser alignment on blowers and motors.
Perform vibration and ultrasound testing on motors, gearboxes, pumps, and blowers using provided tools.
Apply advanced preventative maintenance practices, including lubrication and greasing procedures for all listed equipment.
Ensure safety standards and compliance with industry regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as an Industrial Mechanic in water/wastewater or similar industrial settings.
Strong troubleshooting skills for pumps, motors, and other mechanical systems.
Proficiency in using vibration analysis, ultrasound testing, and laser alignment equipment.
In-depth knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and best practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in outdoor/industrial environments and around hazardous chemicals (with proper PPE).
