Job Description Summary:
The Assembly Material Handler is responsible for ensuring a steady and accurate flow of materials and components required for production. This includes transporting materials by forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or manual lifting. The role also involves maintaining accurate sheet inventory, supporting production orders, and adhering to safety procedures. A clean and organized workspace is expected.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Supply assembly lines with raw materials, parts, and components to maintain consistent production flow
Load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or by hand
Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records
Organize and store materials in designated areas for accessibility
Stage materials for production to ensure correct items are ready for scheduled runs
Inspect incoming materials for quality; report any defects or damages
Dispose of scrap materials and follow all waste management procedures
Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and proper material handling protocols
Work collaboratively with assembly supervisors and production staff to maintain workflow
Assist in other areas of the manufacturing plant as needed
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Assembly Supervisor or Inventory Manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred)
Experience in material handling, inventory control, or assembly environments
Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification is a plus)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude
Ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with heavy machinery and possible exposure to hazardous materials
