We are seeking a Customer Experience Specialist to support Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement by providing high-quality customer service both in person and over the phone. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers visiting the lobby or calling for assistance.
The ideal candidate is professional, patient, organized, and comfortable assisting customers with applications, account setup, and directing inquiries to the appropriate department staff.
Provide front-line customer service in the lobby and via telephone
Direct customers to appropriate Code Enforcement staff
Assist customers with completing permit applications
Help customers set up accounts within the Accela system
Answer general questions and provide accurate information
Maintain professionalism and a positive customer-focused attitude at all times
Perform other related administrative or customer service tasks as needed
Ability to work effectively with customers both in person and over the phone
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems (Accela experience is a plus but not required)
